Overview:
INTECON is seeking a Physical Security Specialist to support the 89th Attack Squadron (89 ATKS) at Ellsworth Air Force Base by independently executing all physical security functions for the unit's SCIF and associated facilities. This position manages IDS/ADS alarm systems, conducts inspections and operational tests, coordinates with Base Security Forces, and ensures continuous compliance with ICD 705 and applicable DoD/AF directives in a TS/SCI environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all required inspections and operational tests for the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Access Detection System (ADS) for all assigned 89th ATKS facilities
- Ensure IDS/ADS systems remain in a fully mission-capable state; coordinate maintenance actions with Base Security Forces and appropriate authorities
- Program, update, and maintain security codes in IDS/ADS, cypher locks, and X-09 (or newer) locking devices IAW security directives
- Execute and log monthly random physical security inspections per contract requirements
- Execute and log quarterly alarm tests; notify 28 BW/SFS upon completion
- Serve as the primary liaison with Ellsworth AFB Security Offices regarding physical SCIF operations (SCIF AF11-007)
- Manage the unit alarm monitoring program for all assigned facilities and subordinate SCIFs
- Update and maintain physical badge roster and Alarmed Facility Access Authorization (AFAA) MFR
- Execute maintenance and disposal of physical SCI material IAW ICDs, DoD manuals, and ACC/SSO guidance
- Facilitate and participate in internal Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and external physical security inspections
- Draft, compile, and submit annual physical security reports to ACC/SSO
- Maintain and audit SF-700s (Security Container Information), SF-701s (Activity Security Checklist), and SF-702s (Security Container Check Sheet) for all containers within the SCIF
- Execute escort duties for uncleared personnel operating within secure environments when required
- Process, generate, and file documentation for restricted area badges and classified access
- Update the squadron Entry Authorization List (EAL) for all assigned facilities; ensure updated copies are delivered to the Base Defense Operation Center (BDOC) monthly or as changes occur
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance. Clearance must be current and verifiable at time of application. Interim clearances are not acceptable.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a TS/SCI facility
- Fully trained and compliant with ICD 704 / SEADs for Personnel Security (or ability to complete training prior to contract start date – training at contractor expense)
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of DoD/AF security databases
- Familiarity with governing security regulations, including:
- AFM 14-304 (Directive, Control, Protection, and Dissemination of SCI)
- AFMAN 16-1406 (Industrial Security Program Management)
- AFI 31-406 (Applying NATO Protection Standards)
- DoD 5105.21 (Vols 1–3)
- DoD 5200.01 (Vols 1–4)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior USAF Physical Security experience, Security Forces, or SCIF management experience (military, civilian, or contractor)
- Hands-on experience with IDS/ADS programming, testing, and maintenance
- Experience with SCIF accreditation, construction, or inspection processes
- Formal Special Security Office (SSO) or Special Security Representative (SSR) certification
- Experience supporting ISR, RPA, or Remote Split Operations squadrons
- Knowledge of TEMPEST requirements and technical surveillance countermeasures
