  • Provide direct physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Provide physical therapy services as specified in the physical therapy plan of care, screen students, designated by a physical therapist, according to established procedures as possible candidates for physical therapy services
  • Assist physical therapist with the revision of short-term patient goals, assist with instructing teachers, staff, and parents in the use of adaptive equipment, assistive technology programs or devices and integration of therapy goals into the educational program
  • Interact with student patient regarding patient's condition, progress and/or achievement of goals during each treatment session
  • Attend planning meetings and participate in Admission Review and Dismissal Committee (ARD) meetings as directed by the physical therapist
  • Assist with acquisition and maintenance of therapy equipment and supplies, maintain accurate student records, including patient progress notes
  • Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other necessary documents
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, State Board of Education rule and board policy
  • Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations, maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform all duties relating to the IDEA B FORM grant at 100%
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned

  • Valid Texas license as a physical therapy assistant grated by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
  • One year of physical therapy experience, including contact with school-age children
