Position Summary
Longhorn Village is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a full time or per diem basis. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide skilled therapeutic services that help residents improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence.
This role offers a great opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment within a senior living and rehabilitation setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and mobility programs
- Monitor and report resident responses and progress to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Accurately document treatments, resident progress, and outcomes in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Educate residents and caregivers on exercises, safety techniques, and mobility strategies
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
- Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident care plans
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations and standards
Qualifications
- Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or senior living preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- CPR certification preferred
