PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

Description: Burnett Medical Center is looking for a casual/prn Physical Therapist Assistant to work in our busy rehab department. SHIFT & HOURS : Day shift, Monday through Friday, Casual/PRN JOB SUMMARY Provides physical therapy treatment and services to patients/clients under the direction of a Physical Therapist. RESPONSIBILITIES Educate patients regarding physiology, anatomy and rationale for chosen treatments whereas education regarding prognosis or PT diagnosis should be deferred to the physical therapist. Consults with and keeps the Rehabilitation Services Manager informed of needs, problems, and incidents involving the Rehabilitation Services Department. Responsible in part, along with the physical therapist, for directing and reviewing the ongoing Restorative Aide services in the nursing home. Plays an active role in conducting nursing home resident annual screens. Plays an active role in conducting pre-employment screens. Documentation of any services/treatments performed. Performs other tasks as directed or required to facilitate the work/performance of the Rehabilitation Services Department. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS Must have completed a Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree Program. Must be licensed in the state of Wisconsin as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
