About The Role

Responsible for assisting the physical therapist in the assigned area of responsibility to implement treatment programs for students. Performs direct treatment for students under the direction if a licensed physical therapist in accordance with the guidelines prescribed by a physician.

  • Assists the physical therapist with student evaluations and the development of progress reports related to prescribed physical therapy treatment.
  • Performs direct physical therapy treatment on students per the direction and under the procedural guidance of the physical therapist.
  • Assists the physical therapist in the accurate maintenance of records of physical therapy treatment procedures as prescribed for each student.

About You

  • High school diploma/equivalent and graduate of an approved program for physical therapist assistants. Recommended by a college or university offering an appropriate training program as approved by the state board of education.
  • Two years of recent and relevant experience working with special education students preferred.
  • Ability to relate and communicate with students, parents, and staff. Evidence of good oral and written communications skills. Ability to function as a team member in the physical therapy/education setting.
