    Description

    Position: Physical Therapist Assistant - Geriatric

    Salary Range: $28-$40 per hour

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Doctors Community Rehab, a 130-bed skilled nursing facility. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work with our geriatric patients to help them regain mobility, improve strength and balance, and increase their overall quality of life. This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule and weekend rotation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Assist the Physical Therapist in evaluating and treating patients according to their individualized care plans

    - Implement therapeutic exercises and modalities to help patients improve their physical function and reduce pain

    - Monitor and document patient progress and communicate with the Physical Therapist and other healthcare team members

    - Educate patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises to continue their progress at home

    - Collaborate with other therapy team members to provide comprehensive care for patients

    - Maintain a clean and organized therapy area and ensure equipment is properly maintained

    - Adhere to all healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

    Qualifications:

    - Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program

    - Valid state PTA license

    - Minimum of 1 year of experience working with geriatric patients, preferably in a skilled nursing facility

    - Strong knowledge of geriatric rehabilitation and common conditions in this population

    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    - Empathy and compassion for patients and their families

    - Flexibility to work weekends and occasional holidays as needed
