Location Ball Memorial Hospital - Muncie, IN

Shift Part Time Days

Roles and Responsibilities IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is a 300 bed Level 3 Trauma Care Hospital. The rehab department has a team of dedicated professionals, including experienced veterans with a willingness to mentor, along with newer therapists that bring new ideas and fresh eyes to the department. There is a collaboration within and across disciplines. We experience a high level of respect from the providers and hospital staff who refer a variety of patient types to therapy, including orthopedic, neurologic, oncology, and ICU patients. The inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Unit is also staffed by our team.

Physical Therapist Assistants provide direct patient care and selected physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a physical therapist. PTAs assist in the clinical education of physical therapy students and clinical supervision of physical therapist assistant students, as well as provide guidance and supervision for support personnel. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education, and department operations.

Requirements • Associates Degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant education program or, if foreign trained, graduation from an assistant physical therapist education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA • Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Indiana • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
