Physical Therapist Assistant

Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to work in diverse settings including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy principles, patient care, and anatomy, with experience across various specialties such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care. The position involves collaborating with licensed therapists to develop and implement effective care plans aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Duties

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing settings.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises and modalities, including trigger point therapy and other manual techniques to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches under supervision.
• Educate patients on physiotherapy exercises, injury prevention, and recovery strategies.
• Document patient responses and progress accurately in medical records while adhering to confidentiality standards.
• Support discharge planning by preparing patients for ongoing care needs post-treatment.
• Ensure a safe environment by following all safety protocols and maintaining equipment hygiene.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and facilitate smooth transitions between care settings.

Experience

• Valid license as a Physical Therapy Assistant with current state licensure.
• Prior experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, or home health environments preferred.
• Skilled nursing facility experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and modalities used in orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and care plan development.
• Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with patients of all ages.
