Aspire of Pleasant Valley is seeking a compassionate and motivated Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house therapy team.
We are a 44-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility providing both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care in a supportive, resident-centered environment. Our focus is on maximizing independence, function, and quality of life for every individual we serve.
Our interdisciplinary team of nurses and therapists works collaboratively to deliver personalized care that supports each resident’s physical, emotional, social, and psychological well-being. We are committed to helping residents achieve their highest level of function through individualized care plans and consistent clinical support.
Position Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides direct physical therapy treatment to residents under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role focuses on improving mobility, relieving pain, restoring function, and promoting independence and overall wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments in accordance with established care plans and physician orders
- Observe and report resident progress, responses, and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercise, mobility training, balance, strength, and endurance activities
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, safety techniques, and mobility strategies
- Support functional rehabilitation goals aimed at improving independence and quality of life
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated resident care
- Promote injury prevention, safe mobility, and wellness strategies
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and professional standards
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Iowa PTA license in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Prior experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred, but not required
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Compassionate approach to working with geriatric and post-acute populations
