A brief overview of Responsibilities
- Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of a Physical Therapist and by the physicians plan of care.
- Direct and aid patient in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
- Utilize physical agents including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
- Instruct in use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
- Observe and report to the physical therapist the patients reaction to treatment and any changes in condition.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant school.
- Must be licensed or registered in Virginia.
- One year of home health experience PLUS
- Must have current CPR Certification.
