Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Outpatient Orthopedics

Location: Hillsborough, NJ
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Patient Schedule: Approximately 1–2 patients per hour
Setting: Orthopedic Outpatient Physical Therapy Office

About the Position

We are hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant in Hillsborough, NJ to provide hands-on treatment in an orthopedic outpatient setting.

You’ll work directly with patients who are recovering from injuries, surgery, pain, weakness, and other conditions that affect movement. Following the Physical Therapist’s plan of care, you’ll guide patients through exercises and treatment activities designed to improve strength, mobility, balance, and everyday function.

This is a full-time weekday role with a patient pace of approximately one to two patients per hour.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities
• Assist with strengthening, flexibility, balance, and mobility training
• Observe patient response during each treatment session
• Report progress or changes in condition to the Physical Therapist
• Reinforce proper exercise technique and home program instructions
• Use approved therapy equipment and modalities as directed
• Complete treatment notes accurately and on time
• Help maintain a safe and organized clinical environment

Requirements

• Current New Jersey Physical Therapist Assistant license
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant studies
• Previous outpatient physical therapy experience
• Experience working with orthopedic patients preferred
