Job Summary
Ardent is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). The ideal candidate is detail oriented, self-driven, and friendly. This person will assist the Physical Therapist to implement physician-ordered rehabilitative therapies for mobility, transferring, strength and activity tolerance, pain control and range of motion according to the Plan of Care (POC).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care
- Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance
- Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training
- Utilize physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage
- Observe and report to the physical therapist and the Organization personnel the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition
- Instruct patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Active CA PTA license
- Minimum of two (2) years of patient care experience; preferable in the home health setting
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication, and organization skills
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
- Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order

Pay Range: $40 - $45 per hour
