What will I do as a Physical Therapist Assistant?

• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents and patients in restoring mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence following illness, injury, or surgery.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment responses to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Adapt treatment activities during therapy sessions in collaboration with the Physical Therapist to support patient goals.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and home programs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with rehabilitation staff, nursing, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members to support positive outcomes.
• Contribute to a safe, dignified, and resident-focused care environment.

What do I need as a Physical Therapist Assistant?

• Graduate of an APTA-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Pennsylvania Physical Therapist Assistant licensure required.
• Knowledge of physical therapy principles, treatment techniques, and rehabilitation practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Experience working with older adults, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or outpatient populations is preferred.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care and supporting positive clinical outcomes.
