Job Title: Physical Therapist

Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for a compassionate and patient-focused Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitation services across acute care, outpatient, and inpatient rehabilitation settings. You will evaluate patients of all ages, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, restore mobility and function, and promote overall wellness while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' functional limitations and conduct comprehensive assessments across acute care, outpatient, and inpatient rehabilitation settings.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, diagnoses, and functional goals.
  • Establish clear, measurable therapy goals that align with each patient's condition and rehabilitation potential.
  • Implement evidence-based therapy interventions to restore mobility, improve function, and enhance overall quality of life.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly and modify treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment notes, patient profiles, and billing records, using the organization's documentation system and electronic medical records.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and strategies to manage functional limitations and promote independence.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate and optimize patient care.
  • Supervise and direct Physical Therapist Assistants, therapy technicians, and students, providing guidance and oversight of patient care activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and professional practice regulations, as well as organizational policies and standards.
  • Apply knowledge of occupational health principles where appropriate to support safe return-to-work and functional recovery.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues using strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Essential Skills

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current Oklahoma Physical Therapist license.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate patients' functional limitations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Proficiency in establishing and implementing therapy goals based on patient needs and diagnoses.
  • Experience providing therapy services in clinical settings such as acute care, outpatient, or inpatient rehabilitation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport and work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation, treatment notes, and billing records.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements and professional practice regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with patients across diverse age groups and functional levels.
  • Familiarity with occupational health concepts related to functional recovery and return-to-work planning.
  • Experience supervising Physical Therapist Assistants, therapy technicians, or students in a clinical environment.
  • Ability to educate patients and families on home exercise programs and strategies for managing functional limitations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple patients and priorities in a dynamic clinical setting.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position within a trusted hospital setting that supports both core and per diem work arrangements. You will provide care in acute care units, outpatient clinics, and inpatient rehabilitation environments, working closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The role involves regular use of electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems, as well as standard rehabilitation equipment and modalities.
