PHYSICAL THERAPIST

POSITION SUMMARY Reports To: Director of Rehab Services

Summary: The Staff Physical Therapist is responsible and accountable for providing physical therapy evaluation and treatment for patients of Decatur County Memorial Hospital. He or she may treat pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Staff Physical Therapist directs and supervises patients who are treated by physical therapy assistants and complies with all policies and procedures in the Physical Therapy Department and Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Job duties include:

• Patient assessment
• Writing plans of treatment
• Administration of therapeutic exercise
• Use of modalities
• Supervision
• Community/patient education

Work Schedule: May work 8 to 10-hour days between the hours of 7:30 am to 6 pm. Weekend coverage and holidays is also expected on a rotational basis. Must be able to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Minimum of Bachelors Degree from a University or College with an accredited Physical Therapy Program.

Experience: One to two years related experience.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.

Certificates & Licenses:

• Must possess a valid Indiana drivers license and have a good driving record.
• Current State of Indiana license in Physical Therapy.
• BLS Certification also required.

Other Requirements: Twenty-two (22) hours of continuing competency activities are required each licensure renewal period. This position requires the ability to stand and walk frequently, use hands and fingers, squat, kneel or bend frequently, and lift or move more than 50 pounds.
