Overview
Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Physical Therapist to join our dynamic, academic teaching hospital. This role provides the opportunity to work with pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties.
Our therapists rotate through specialty areas including:
Cardiopulmonary
Neurology
Medicine & Surgery
Orthopedics
Pediatrics
Transplant
Oncology
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy care to patients with complex conditions
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to develop individualized treatment plans
Participate in case conferences and clinical discussions
Engage in ongoing professional development guided by Clinical Specialists and Directors
Support clinical education programs and mentorship of students
Contribute to community outreach initiatives
Interest or experience as a clinical instructor (preferred)
Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth

Education
Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy required or Master's Degree Physical Therapy preferred or Doctorate Physical Therapy preferred

Physical Therapist [State License] - required Basic
Life Support [BLS Certification] - Various Issuers preferred
Experience
Experience working as a physical therapist in a hospital, rehab or Ambulatory setting 1-2 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Teaching others how to do something.
- Excellent problem solving, case management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
