We are seeking On -call Part Time Physical Therapy Assistant to provide physical therapy services to NCEP clients under the supervision of the Physical Therapist. Possession of a current valid license to practice physical therapy in the State of Nevada (if licensure has not yet been obtained, proof of eligibility for licensure as the time of appointment and thereafter) Minimum of five years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills , including the ability to work well with a diverse range of individuals. One year experience with traumatically brain injured, neurologically involved and and/or severely disabled populations strongly preferred. Responsibilities: Evaluate clients through testing full body range of motion, tone, motor control, muscle strength, sensation, coordination, oral-bulbar status, respiratory function, and general neurologic status. Serve as a cooperative member of the interdisciplinary clinical team Provide direct client care utilizing physical therapy techniques Prepare, maintain and transmit accurate records Instruct family and client in any home programs that are appropriate Confer with physicians, therapists of other disciplines NCEP offers a great work environment, a knowledgeable and skilled multidisciplinary team of clinicians, competitive wage and a great benefit package including paid time off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and wellness reimbursement ASI is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. Accessible Space, Inc. (ASI), a nonprofit organization, was founded in 1978. At that time, housing opportunities for adults with disabilities did not exist. Many people in need of attendant and homemaker support ended up in nursing homes. ASI offered a different option in which people could live independently in their own accessible, affordable cooperative homes or apartments and draw on supportive services as needed. ASI’s unique model enabled consumers to share service hours so supportive assistance would be available 24/7/365.
Today the need for supportive housing and assisted living options continues to grow. Accessible Space’s initial five cooperative homes provided housing for 30 consumers in Minnesota. Now ASI is a nationwide organization with 136 buildings in 26 states and has developed additional buildings in 31 states.
