Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 8 hours, Monday to Friday

Position Overview:

  • Outpatient setting within a hospital environment.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system integrated with all healthcare providers in the region.
  • Operating hours are weekdays from 7 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Focus on personalized patient care.
  • Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions.
  • No overlapping appointments or double bookings.
  • Schedule managed by therapists.

Our organization is an integrated healthcare system serving around 400,000 residents in central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of over 40 primary and specialty care facilities. This includes a regional referral hospital that features the only Cancer Care Center in the area, an orthopedic surgery center, and a heart and vascular institute. The facility also serves as the base for the state's sole medical helicopter service.

Additionally, we operate two critical access hospitals that provide vital healthcare services to rural communities in Maine.

In line with our commitment to healthcare education and workforce development, we host a college dedicated to nursing and medical imaging, which is accredited and plays a crucial role in training future healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver medically prescribed physical therapy services aimed at evaluating, treating, and restoring function, while enhancing mobility, alleviating pain, and preventing disabilities. Ensure patient-centered care in compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices.

  • Conduct patient evaluations and physical therapy assessments.
  • Create and implement tailored treatment plans.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation and functional enhancement.
  • Track patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and recovery objectives.
  • Accurately document evaluations, treatments, and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, licensing, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, or Certificate in Physical Therapy.
  • A valid state Physical Therapy license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire, with maintenance of certification required.
