LifeBridge Health is seeking a dedicated PHYSICAL THERAPIST-PRN-ACUTE CARE ORTHO to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department within our regional healthcare organization in Maryland. In this PRN role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy services to adult and geriatric patients with acute orthopedic and post-surgical conditions in the hospital setting. Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, case managers, and other rehabilitation professionals, you will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and progress patients toward safe and effective mobility and functional independence.

Responsibilities include performing detailed musculoskeletal and functional assessments, interpreting medical records and post-operative protocols, establishing appropriate short- and long-term goals, and delivering interventions such as therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, transfer training, neuromuscular re-education, and patient/caregiver education. You will participate in discharge planning by providing recommendations for durable medical equipment, post-acute rehabilitation needs, and safe transition to home or other levels of care. Accurate and timely electronic documentation of evaluations, daily treatment notes, and progress reports is essential, as is clear communication with the care team regarding patient status and response to therapy.

This position requires strong clinical reasoning, familiarity with acute care and orthopedic best practices, and the ability to prioritize and manage a variable PRN caseload in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in patient care by participating in team huddles, quality initiatives, and professional development activities. LifeBridge Health values compassionate, patient-centered care and supports therapists in expanding their skills through ongoing education and exposure to diverse clinical populations.

As part of LifeBridge Health, you will have the opportunity to support our mission of improving health and promoting well-being in the communities we serve. You will work with a supportive team that encourages open communication, shared problem-solving, and engagement in performance improvement. This role is ideal for a Physical Therapist who is passionate about acute care orthopedics, enjoys working in a collaborative hospital environment, and is seeking flexible PRN hours with the opportunity for growth within a leading regional healthcare system in Maryland.
