Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition
Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results
Develop treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques as part of personalized goal-oriented health care programs
Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility
Advise patients on exercise techniques and in-home treatment options
Provide educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote physical health
Oversee the support staff to ensure quality of care and maximum productivity
Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
Document patient care history timely and accurately
Comply with all rules, regulations and procedures
Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
The Physical Therapist (PT) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and the public
Detail-oriented with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
Accurate clinical assessment skills regarding patient medical conditions
Ability and willingness to accurately and appropriately document patient care notes in a timely manner in accordance with billing and regulatory requirements
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff
Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred
Ability to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations as well as exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Doctorate (Master degree if prior to 2015) degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational institution, required
Completion of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited residency program, preferred
Pass the National Physical Therapist Examination (NPTE), required
Current Kansas Physical Therapy License, required
Current BLS Certification, required
1-2 years’ experience in an acute or clinical setting, preferred
