Physical Therapist

As a K-8 school-based Physical Therapist in Illinois, your days will include:

• Provide school-based physical therapy services to K-8 students in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Evaluate students’ functional mobility, gross motor skills, strength, balance, coordination, and access needs within the school environment.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable goals that support students’ educational participation and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, families, and school teams to support student progress and classroom access.
• Recommend and support the use of adaptive equipment, positioning strategies, and environmental modifications as appropriate.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide progress updates and documentation related to physical therapy services.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with state, school, and professional requirements.

Job Details

• Position: Contract school-based Physical Therapist
• Hours: 16-20 hours per week; flexible schedule
• Caseload: K-8th grade; approximately 40 students
• Start/End Date: ASAP through end of school year (EOSY)
• Interview: Virtual
• Work Setting: In-person

Successful Candidates Possess

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program (required)
• Active Illinois Physical Therapist license (required); PEL is not required
• Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred)
• The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
• Note: new graduates are encouraged to apply
