Vernon Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to deliver comprehensive rehabilitative services within our primarily outpatient rural health clinic, with additional inpatient coverage. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a dynamic, collaborative, and rewarding healthcare environment.

We are currently seeking a candidate with training in pelvic floor therapy or a strong interest in pursuing advanced training in this specialty. Continuing education and mentorship opportunities are available to foster specialization and ongoing professional development.

The Physical Therapist performs skilled evaluations, develops individualized treatment plans, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to promote optimal patient recovery and functional independence. This role emphasizes high-quality, evidence-based care while educating patients and families on therapeutic techniques, equipment use, and home exercise programs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and establish patient-centered treatment goals.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions including exercise prescription, physical agents, manual therapy, gait training, balance training, and pelvic floor rehabilitation as appropriate.
  • Interpret and implement physician orders.
  • Assess patient status and functional progress; maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
  • Communicate updates and progress to referring providers and insurance companies.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment, identify contraindications, and modify plans of care to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  • Educate patients and families on assistive device use, home exercise programs, pelvic health education, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Promote safe and effective use of equipment and therapy spaces.
  • Stay current with advancements and best practices in physical therapy.
  • Provide in-service training for clinic and hospital staff and participate in staff development initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Current Wisconsin Physical Therapist license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong interest in pelvic floor rehabilitation required, with a desire to treat this population OR
  • Currently enrolled in or completed specialized pelvic floor training preferred

Hours:

  • Clinic hours between 7am- 5pm , based on patient needs
  • Weekend/Holiday rotation

Compensation:

  • Starting wage: $38.58/hour, with increases based on experience
