Physical Therapist (Travel – Home Health)

Worksite Type: Fully On‑Site 

Location: Waynesville, NC (Home Health – Buncombe & Haywood Counties) 

Job Type: Contract 

Weekly Hours: 40 guaranteed 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM 

On‑Call: Negotiable; approximately one Saturday per month 

Mileage: Reimbursed between patient visits (first to last)

About the Role

This contract travel role supports home‑based patients by providing skilled physical therapy services in the field. The clinician will conduct in‑home assessments, deliver therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient recovery and mobility goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments for patients in their homes

• Conduct evaluations, develop individualized care plans, and document progress

• Collaborate with nursing and other clinical staff to ensure continuity of care

• Manage a daily caseload and meet productivity expectations (30 points/week)

• Travel throughout assigned coverage areas for patient visits

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy

• Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist

• Previous home health experience

• Ability to meet occupational health screening requirements

• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience with HCHB (HomeCare HomeBase)

• OASIS documentation experience
