Position Summary:

The Physical Therapy Aide supports the Physical Therapy Department, which is a specialty service provided within our Plaza del Castillo health center in the Bronx. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a certificate in medical assisting or someone pursuing a career/degree in Physical Therapy or Exercise Science to have the opportunity to work directly with our dedicated team of Physical Therapists.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required. Certificate in Medical Assisting, a huge plus and/or PT Assistant certificate or training.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• 1-2 years of clinical support experience in a health center, rehabilitation center, or related clinical setting.
• Ability to work with an integrated team approach to healthcare.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Key Duties:

• Preps patients for treatment by reviewing referral and medical history
• Coordinates scheduling of patients.
• Contacts patients via phone and in person.
• Assists patients with exercise and supervising while they are on machines.
• Completes daily checks of all logs and equipment.
• Prepares patient for treatment, including taking vital signs.
• All duties as assigned by the Physical Therapist.

Compensation: Minimum: $23.00/hour - Maximum: $23.00/hour

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

This position is fully onsite working based out of our Bronx based FQHC, Plaza Del Castillo. Must be able to commit to Monday through Friday for ALL of the following shifts: 8am-5pm, 9am-6pm, and 8:30am-5:30pm.
