DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Performs any or all of the following tasks:
- Assists the PT/PTA in lifting and supporting patients during exercise, transfers, ambulation, gait training, or any other therapeutic procedure as needed.
- Assists the PT/PTA in positioning patients on beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, and therapeutic equipment before and following treatment.
- Assists the PT/PTA in performing wound care procedures while wearing protective equipment as indicated (gloves, mask, gown, etc.).
- Changes linen on beds/stretchers, cleans equipment/whirlpools/shelves/tables/chairs as needed using disinfection solutions, detergents, water, alcohol, betadine, brushes, and cloths.
- Assists the PT/PTA in performing any other duties as required relating to the maintenance of the department and the administering of physical therapy treatment and services.
- Purchases and wears regulation uniform as required.
- Attends all mandatory hospital in-services and departmental meetings.
- Obtains a CPR certification as required.
- Adheres to all DNV standards as required.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Baptist Memorial Hosp- Oktibbeha (BMHOC) will train the incumbent on all aspects of the Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). HIPAA training and certification are requirements of this position. The incumbent will adhere to all security and patient confidentiality rules and regulations mandated by the Federal Government and the State of Mississippi. Upon commencement of employment, the employee must sign a Patient Confidentiality and Security Agreement and abide by the BMHOC Confidentiality, Privacy, and Security Policies and Procedures. Failure to adhere to the HIPAA standards, BMHOC Security and Confidentiality policies, and those set forth by the United States Federal Government, and the State of Mississippi will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
EDUCATION
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
No previous experience is required.
