    Job Overview:

    The PACE Physical Therapy Assistant promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of the PACE Physical Therapist. The PACE Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing physical therapy education to participants, caregivers, and PACE staff to address mobility and functional issues.

    Job Requirements:

    Associate''s Degree for PTA (Required)

    1 - 2 years of work experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant. (Preferred)

    Other Current PTA license in good standing to practice in Ohio. Upon Hire Required

    Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified. Required

    Job Responsibilities:

    Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of the PACE Physical Therapist.

    Performs therapeutic procedures and treatment programs by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting participants in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities.

    Assists participants in using supportive devices, including Durable Medical Equipment (DME).

    Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

    Monitors PACE participants for changes in their health or psychosocial status. Promptly communicates pertinent changes in participant status to the IDT.

    Supports the PACE QI program and participants in PACE QI activities as assigned. Completes and maintains documentation in the PACE EHR in accordance with the federal PACE regulation and organizational policy.

    Responsible for providing physical therapy education to participants, caregivers, and PACE staff to address mobility and functional issues. Home visits may be necessary to provide participants and caregivers with physical therapy education and durable medical equipment training and education.
