Prestonwood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our exceptional in-house rehab team in Dallas, Texas. Position Summary
Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide skilled physical therapy services to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, works well within a multidisciplinary team, and is committed to delivering high-quality rehabilitation services.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions according to physician orders and established care plans
- Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, safety, and treatment goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company policies and state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Participate in meetings and care planning as directed by the Director of Rehabilitation
- Ensure all treatments are delivered safely, effectively, and compassionately
Qualifications
- Active and valid Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care experience preferred
- Knowledge of Net Health documentation system preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively with residents of varying needs and personalities
