ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
Provide guidance to individuals through administering manual exercises, non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, assisting in physical activities, and daily living activities.
Implement
physical therapy treatment plans under the direction of the physical therapist
by helping improve individuals’ mobility, manage pain, and regain
functionality.
Assistant
physical therapist by evaluating individuals’ progress during treatments.
Assist
individuals with devices such as crutches, canes, prostheses, wheelchairs, etc.
Provides
support, counsel, advice, training and education for individuals, family,
caregivers and other professionals on the importance of being consistent with therapy treatment plans.
Efficiently
assembles extensive documentation on individuals’ progress, care services and
therapy adjustments, when necessary, that aligns with standard medical
documentation and facility protocol/procedures documentation.
Collaboratively
work with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Must
display excellent active listening skills, critical thinking skills,
verbal/written communication skills, time management skills.
Must
display compassion, integrity and respect to all individuals.
Supporting
additional responsibilities and/or tasks as needed for the department.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically be able to lift, transfer, and assist patients while providing therapy interventions during physical activity.
Must be able to lift and carry items up to 25lbs, including assisting individuals when needed.
Ability to visually be able to perform job duties, including examining individuals and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licenses/Certifications: Must hold an active and in good standing Wisconsin Physical Therapy Assistant License and CPR Certification.
