Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Consultant

The Arc Columbia-Saratoga, formerly Coarc (Columbia County Arc), is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Consultant to provide physical therapy services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this consultant role, you'll work directly with people we support in their homes and day programs, helping them improve mobility, increase independence, and achieve their individual therapy goals while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Position Type: 1099 Consultant
Schedule: Approximately 10–12 hours per week
Service Locations: Homes and Day Programs
Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with each person's individualized therapy plan.
- Assist people we support in improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence.
- Deliver therapy services in homes and day program settings.
- Document services provided and report progress toward established therapy goals.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, program staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Educate staff on recommended therapeutic exercises, positioning, transfers, and mobility techniques.
- Maintain professional documentation in accordance with agency policies and applicable regulations.
- Deliver services in a professional, ethical, and person-centered manner.
Requirements
- Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant license required
- Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
- Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation required
