Physical Therapy Assistant-School-BasedLocation: Harmony, PAJob SummaryThe Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide physical therapy services to students in a school setting. The assistant will work with students who have physical disabilities, injuries, or illnesses to help them improve their mobility, strength, and overall physical function. Responsibilities- Assist the physical therapist in evaluating students' physical abilities and developing treatment plans
- Implement treatment plans and provide physical therapy services to students in individual or group settings
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Communicate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services
- Assist with equipment and supply management
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices and trends in physical therapy
Qualifications- Associate's degree in physical therapy assisting or related field
- Current certification as a physical therapy assistant
- Experience working with children and adolescents preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments and schedules
Physical DemandsThe Physical Therapy Assistant may be required to lift and move equipment and assist students with physical activities. The assistant must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time. Work EnvironmentThe Physical Therapy Assistant will work in a school setting and may be exposed to noise, distractions, and interruptions. The assistant may also be required to travel between different school locations.
