About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing healthcare team in Southfield, MI. In this role, you’ll work alongside Physical Therapists and healthcare providers to support patients as they recover from injury, improve mobility, and build a better quality of life.

What You’ll Do

Patient Treatment & Rehabilitation

  • Carry out individualized therapy plans created by the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional activities
  • Assist patients in improving strength, balance, flexibility, and movement

Patient Support & Education

  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and recovery techniques
  • Encourage patient confidence and motivation throughout treatment
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care during every interaction

Clinical Documentation & Progress Tracking

  • Record patient progress, functional measurements, and treatment outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR systems
  • Communicate patient updates and concerns with the rehabilitation team

Safety & Collaboration

  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and professional clinical environment
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Apply evidence-based therapy techniques to support recovery and injury prevention

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapist Assisting
  • Active PTA license or certification
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques
  • Experience with therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfort using EMR and healthcare documentation systems
  • Ability to assist and safely lift patients when needed

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in outpatient, rehabilitation, or primary care settings
