PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT
Sun Valley Specialty Healthcare, Inc. / Totally Kids is a pediatric sub-acute long-term care facility and outpatient rehabilitation center that provides pediatric speech, occupational and physical therapies for children from 0-21 years. We are looking for a part-time physical therapist assistant to join our collaborative and interdisciplinary team. Desirable candidates must have a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work well as part of a team, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Therapist Assistant Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Caseload includes children and young adults aged 0 to 21 years in an outpatient clinic and long-term care facility.
  • Provides goal-directed and activity-oriented intervention to promote functional mobility with an emphasis on facilitating independence, health, wellness, and enhanced quality of life.
  • Builds and maintains rapport with family members and provides caregiver education as needed.
  • Communicates and collaborates with team members about physical therapy services.
  • Completes professional documentation according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Enters appropriate billing for client services into electronic medical system.
  • Maintains treatment environment and supplies to support physical therapy services.
  • Develops, writes, and instructs clients and families in therapy home programs.
  • Assists in orientation and training of other staff members.
  • Assists in projects related to development of clinical programs and/or accomplishment of department goals.

Qualifications
  • Current and valid CA PTA license
  • Experience with pediatric population is highly preferred but not required
  • Ability to meet deadlines; detailed and task-oriented
  • Comfort participating as part of an interdisciplinary medical team
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required
  • Good time management

Part-time: 
  • 20 hours/week with the opportunity for additional hours as caseload grows
  • Hours may be split into 4- to 8-hour days

Salary: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour.
