Who we are and what we do:

The Southeast Region of the Tennessee Department of Health provides women's health services, as well as primary care services, in the ten-county region surrounding Hamilton County. The Tennessee Department of Health Southeast Region is looking for a physician to provide Primary Care and Women's Health services.

Protect, promote, and improve the health and well-being of all people in Tennessee.

Job Overview:

Provide primary care services, as well as women's health services, in rural county health departments surrounding Hamilton County. Clinics are staffed by both physicians and advanced practice nurses and serve the uninsured population. This position will be based at the Bradley County Health Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care

  • Follow health department guidelines, protocols and program recommendations

  • Be available to consult with other department staff

  • Provide chart review for APN charts as requested

  • Follow professional development directives from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners, including having and maintaining a valid unrestricted medical license

  • Participate in county and regional based activities as requested by county and regional supervisors

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid and unrestricted Tennessee medical license

  • Residency training in either Family Medicine or General Internal Medicine

  • Valid Tennessee driver's license and available transportation as position may involve work in more than one health department
