Physician Administrator 2 - Noble Correctional Institution

Job Summary

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified physician in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine to provide primary care services on a full-time basis in the role of Chief Medical Officer for the male population at Noble Correctional Institution.

About the Position

As a Physician Administrator 2, you will work collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting exams and writing evaluations and reports
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing
  • Managing medication
  • Completing reclassifications and other reviews as indicated
  • Making referrals for specialized care or treatment
  • Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews
  • Providing or sharing responsibilities of off-site 24-hour emergency telephone call coverage as needed
  • Engaging in collaborative agreements as needed
  • Determining the need for specialty consults
  • Attending professional meetings
  • Managing on-call schedule
  • Providing clinical supervision of all providers ensuring that care is provided in accordance with ODRC policy and procedure and meets community standards

Requirements

  • Certificate to practice medicine in the state of Ohio as issued by the State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code
  • Medical basic medical procedures, corrections medical charting, medication management, critical thinking, collaboration, interpreting data, teamwork, and time management

Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Background Investigation
