The Occupational Health Services (OHS) unit is recognized as one of the leading occupational health departments in the country. OHS ensures compliance with federal, state, and city safety regulations, and maintains internal controls that protect both employees and customers. This work is essential failure to comply with and can result in injuries or fatalities.
We are seeking a Staff Physician- Occupational Medicine to join our team of physicians and nurses dedicated to ensuring that MTA employees and pre‑employment candidates meet all medical requirements for their job titles. This role is critical to the safe and effective operation of the NYC Transit Authority.

Staff Physician
The Staff Physician will perform general occupational health evaluations within a Medical Assessment Center (MAC). Responsibilities include:
Certification Requirement: Newly hired Staff Physicians who are not US DOT CDL‑certified medical examiners must obtain certification within one (1) year of hire, as required by the collective bargaining agreement.
Additional Responsibilities for US DOT Certified Medical Examiners
In addition to the responsibilities above, Staff Physicians who are US DOT Certified Medical Examiners and registered with FMCSA's National Registry will:
