The Nocturnal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides comprehensive overnight coverage for house-wide inpatient surgical and subspecialty services. This role supports cardiac surgery, general surgery, and additional surgical subspecialties by delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, performing invasive procedures, and ensuring continuity of care during nocturnal hours. The APP functions with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with attending surgeons, fellows, residents, and multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Care-
· Provide overnight cross-coverage for inpatient surgical and subspecialty services.
· Perform comprehensive assessments, including history and physical exams, for new admissions, consults, and acute changes in patient condition.
· Diagnose and manage postoperative and acute surgical complications.
· Initiate and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
