Position Overview
Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) to support a high-performing, multi-site surgical team across Brookwood, Princeton, and Shelby hospitals. This role will directly support three cardiothoracic surgeons and work alongside a team of seven to eight Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
This is a dynamic role offering exposure to the full continuum of cardiothoracic surgical care- including first assist, pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative management.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Perform pre-operative evaluations and post-operative rounding
- Manage ICU and step-down patients in collaboration with surgeons
- Participate in call rotation (nights and weekends required)
- Coordinate care across multiple sites to ensure continuity and quality outcomes
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- PA-C certification required
- Active or eligible for Alabama licensure
- Cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred (new graduates with strong surgical rotations considered)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
