Role Description The Physician Assistant Certified will provide direct patient care in an outpatient primary care setting, including conducting comprehensive histories and physical exams, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests. The role includes prescribing medications, developing and adjusting treatment plans, and providing patient education on disease prevention, lifestyle modification, and medication adherence. The Physician Assistant will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care and participate in follow-up visits, care transitions, and documentation in the EMR. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area, with regular weekday clinic hours and potential occasional extended hours based on patient needs.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and active, unrestricted Texas PA license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • \n
  • Solid clinical skills in primary care or family medicine, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of common adult and pediatric conditions.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records, accurate documentation, and basic computer literacy.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations and collaborate within a care team.
  • \n
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, preventive medicine, and evidence-based practice.
  • \n
  • Ability to work on-site full time, manage a steady patient schedule, and prioritize tasks in a busy outpatient environment.
  • \n
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; master’s degree preferred.
  • \n
  • Prior outpatient primary care experience is beneficial but motivated new graduates will be considered.
  • \n
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
