Responsibilities:
- Assists in the diagnoses and therapeutic management of children referred for developmental delays/disorders and/or behavior concerns, under the supervision of a physician
- Performs medical and developmental screenings and evaluation of Infants and toddlers
- Obtains thorough histories and physicals on pediatrics patients
- Assists in determining needed evaluations for new patients
- Provides information and support to families regarding the diagnostic process and guidance and Implications regarding diagnosis
- Initiates referrals to other physicians and agencies
- Responsible for prescribing and monitoring medications
- Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies
- Updates and maintains electronic health records
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program Required OR
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution and completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner training program Required
- PA - Physician Assistant - Licensure with the state of Alabama to practice as a Physician Assistant within 60 Days Required or
- CRNP - Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and licensure with the state of Alabama as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse. Upon Hire Required
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
