Physician Assistant / Family Nurse Practitioner – Family Practice – Arcata, CA

  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Hours/Week: 40 hours
  • Employment Type: W-2, full-time
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: CA Medical License, DEA, CA Controlled Substance Education Course (for PAs), Furnishing License with Schedules II (for NPs)
  • Experience: 3+ years in family practice or similar setting, chronic pain management experience preferred

  • Pay Rate: $1.00/hour (competitive rate based on experience)

What You’ll Do
  • Provide comprehensive family practice care for diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and adults
  • Manage chronic pain and perform clinical chart closures within 72 hours
  • Conduct patient assessments, diagnositcs, and treatment planning
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver quality care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in EHR systems
  • Follow all state and federal guidelines for controlled substances and licensing requirements
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

What You Need
Required:
  • Valid California Medical License or Nurse Practitioner license
  • DEA registration, active before start date
  • CA Controlled Substance Education Course Certificate (for PAs)
  • Furnishing License with Schedules II (for NPs)
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in family practice or primary care
  • Strong communication and patient management skills

Preferred:
  • Experience with chronic pain management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingual skills or additional language proficiencies are a plus
