Summary of Position

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice provider with gastroenterology experience to provide medical services in collaboration with our gastroenterology physicians. Join us in providing top notch patient care including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Conduct Gastroenterology assessment of patient, documenting pertinent findings.

  • Initiate, perform and interpret diagnostic tests.

  • Systematically compare and contrast clinical diagnostic findings with normal and abnormal variations in making differential diagnoses.

  • Utilize evidence-based care practices to meet the needs of complex patients.

  • Evaluate diagnoses and the effectiveness of the interventions to achieve expected outcomes.

  • Prescribe treatments, therapy procedures, and medications in accordance with New York State and federal law.

  • Consider the patients comprehensive overall health needs with integrated delivery of patient care.

  • Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.

  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

  • Participate in staff educational programs and meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Studies (R)
  • Master of Science degree in Physician Studies (P).
  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) (R)
  • Current NCCPA Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) (R)
  • Minimum 1 year gastroenterology experience (R)
  • Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
