Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Hematology-Oncology Providers

Join our dynamic team as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner specializing in Hematology Oncology and make a meaningful impact on patient care. This full-time locum position offers an engaging environment within a reputable outpatient clinic connected to a main hospital and chemotherapy center. What You Will Do:
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology-oncology care, including bone marrow biopsies.
  • Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a scheduled lunch break.
  • Ensure timely completion of patient visits within scheduled hours, with pre-approved overtime if necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with privileging requirements, including hospital privileges linked to the clinic.

Required Skills:
  • Active California medical license and DEA certification.
  • Board Certified in your respective advanced practice role.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proven experience in hematology-oncology, with a minimum of 2 years of clinical activity in the specialty.
  • Ability to perform bone marrow biopsies preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to complete work within scheduled hours.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience managing complex oncology cases.
  • Previous outpatient clinic or hospital-based clinical experience.
  • Familiarity with outpatient privileging processes and hospital credentialing.
  • Capability to adapt to evolving clinical demands and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • At least 2 years of recent clinical practice in hematology-oncology.
  • Demonstrated competence in outpatient care settings, including documentation and case log maintenance.

Other Requirements:
  • Valid California medical license and DEA registration.
  • Privileging with the hospital, requiring submission of 2 years of relevant clinical activity.
  • Ability to secure hospital privileges within approximately 90 days; timely submission of all credentialing documents is essential.
  • Willingness to adhere to documentation, coding, and compliance regulations.
  • Flexibility for potential telehealth or travel reimbursements where applicable.
