Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our growing Interventional Radiology team.
This position is primarily clinic-based and will provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation and management of patients referred to Interventional Radiology. In addition, the APP will participate in inpatient rounding, consult management, and procedural care while collaborating closely with Interventional Radiologists and multidisciplinary teams throughout the hospital.
The Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed, certified healthcare professional with prescriptive authority who provides medical care within the scope of practice established by Baylor Scott & White Health and the supervising physicians. The APP will play a key role in patient assessment, care coordination, procedural preparation and follow-up, management of inpatient consults, and performance of selected procedures according to experience, competency, and credentialing requirements.

Essential Functions of the Role
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations in the Interventional Radiology clinic, including medical histories, physical examinations, and treatment planning.
Evaluate new patient referrals and determine appropriateness for image-guided interventions in collaboration with Interventional Radiologists.
Manage pre-procedure consultations, patient education, informed consent discussions, and post-procedure follow-up care.
Round on hospitalized Interventional Radiology patients and manage inpatient consults.
Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other testing necessary for patient care and procedural planning.
Coordinate care with referring physicians, hospitalists, surgeons, oncologists, vascular specialists, and other members of the healthcare team.
Provide ongoing management of patients before and after interventional procedures to optimize outcomes and patient safety.
Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions as clinically indicated.
Perform procedures within the provider''s scope of practice, demonstrated competency, and departmental privileges.
Counsel patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedural expectations, and follow-up recommendations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards.
Participate in departmental quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
May provide coverage for clinic, inpatient, and procedural services based on departmental needs.

Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer
Certification from an accredited board as an APRN for the patient population of focus required

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program
EXPERIENCE - 1+ Years of Experience
One or more years of experience in Interventional Radiology, Critical Care, Hospital Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Vascular Medicine, or another procedural specialty.
Experience managing hospitalized patients.
Experience performing bedside or procedure-based interventions.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
NCCPA Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS): Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
