Description
Position Summary: The Provider will work under the supervision of our Pain Management Physician(s) to provide direct patient care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, follow-up visits, and patient education. The Provider will deliver high-quality care consistent with evidence-based clinical guidelines and regulatory standards in our Pooler and Savannah offices.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history, physical exam, and diagnostic review.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.
Participate in medication management, including controlled substance prescribing per state/federal requirements and clinic policies.
Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and imaging studies.
Assist providers with in-office procedures and follow-up evaluations.
Educate patients on pain management strategies, treatment plans, and medication usage.
Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, surgical teams, and external specialists as needed.
Document patient encounters in the EMR accurately and in a timely manner.
Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and patient safety initiatives.
Support clinic workflow and maintain positive patient experience and satisfaction.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Certification as a Physician's Assistant, APRN, OR State of Florida Certified Nurse Practitioner or certification pending, as documented by temporary certificate.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Pain management, orthopedics, neurology, rheumatology, or primary care experience preferred (but not required depending on training structure).
Strong assessment, diagnostic, and clinical reasoning skills.
Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to function independently within scope and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with chronic pain management or interventional pain procedures.
Experience with controlled substance management and monitoring (UDS, PDMP, opioid agreements).
Familiarity with EMR systems.
Knowledge of spine or musculoskeletal disorders.
