Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner | Pearland, TX

Location: Pearland, Texas
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, seven days a week

Position Summary

We are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Pearland, Texas. This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound management
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
• Code and bill services appropriately
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Board certification:
  • PA: NCCPA certification
  • NP: ANCC or AANP certification; FNP required
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain
• Ability to treat patients of all ages
• Active BLS certification
• EHR proficiency
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of urgent care experience highly preferred
• Prior emergency medicine or fast-track experience
• Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care
• Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
