Summary:

The Department of Surgery at Westchester Medical Center is seeking an experienced and motivated APP (Advanced Practice Provider), Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), to join our growing Plastic Surgery Ambulatory team. This strictly outpatient focused role is ideal for an APP interested in the diverse care and management of Plastic Surgery patients, and for a clinician who thrives in a collaborative and fast-evolving setting with true support and mentorship.

Role Highlights:

• Independently perform comprehensive preoperative and post-operative evaluations for Plastic Surgery patients including detailed history-taking, physical examination, and formulation of differential diagnoses.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans in collaboration with members of the surgical team
• Collaborate to optimize perioperative protocols, ensuring safe patient preparation, accurate surgical site verification, and comprehensive postoperative handoff.
• Educate patients and their family members on diagnoses, treatment options, potential side effects, and symptom management strategies while focused on treating each patient as a whole and individual person

What Were Looking For:

• Board certified Physician Assistant who possesses, or is eligible to obtain, an applicable NYS license, and has an active DEA
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of surgical experience as a practicing clinical PA, although highly motivated new graduates will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Active BLS ACLS certifications
