Physician Assistant, Orthopedics
Brief Overview
Please note this role will possibly include coverage of several subspecialities of orthopedics.
Key Responsibilities:- Comprehensive care of subspecialty team patients as well as orthopedic trauma/fracture patients.
- Treating new and established patients, interpretation of diagnostic imaging, pre-op and post-op appointments, and coordination of care.
- Managing acute and chronic orthopedic conditions that span infant to young adult age groups.
- Clinic coverage could be across all BCH locations including: Boston, Waltham, Weymouth, Peabody and Needham
- Working four 10-hour shifts per week with built in administrative time
Minimum Qualifications
Education:- Master’s Degree from a Physician Assistant program
Experience:- Previous experience as an PA in pediatrics, orthopedics or other related area is strongly preferred
- A strong desire to work in the pediatric orthopedic setting.
- Ability to work in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) and ambulatory staff is essential.
- Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.
- Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills.
Licensure/ Certifications:- A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant
