Physician Assistant (PA), Physician Assistant - Inpatient Malignant Hem/Onc | Days or Nights

Opportunity to join a leading academic medical center highly specialized Inpatient Malignant Hematology/Oncology team caring for a complex and high-acuity patient population.  This is an exceptional opportunity for both experienced PAs and motivated new graduates who have an interest in hematology/oncology and want to develop their expertise in a sophisticated inpatient cancer program.  The service has a strong focus on malignant hematology and liquid tumors, with exposure to chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant (BMT), CAR-T therapy, cellular therapies, clinical trials and other advanced cancer treatments.

As an inpatient PA, you will care for medically complex oncology patients while working collaboratively with physicians, residents, nurses, pharmacists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

The patient population includes:

• Malignant hematologic disorders
• Leukemia
• Lymphoma
• Multiple myeloma
• Solid tumors
• Bone marrow/stem cell transplant patients
• CAR-T and other cellular therapy patients
• Patients receiving chemotherapy and specialized treatments
• Patients participating in clinical trials
• Acute complications related to cancer and cancer treatment

This is a high-acuity environment where PAs play an important role in the ongoing management of complex patients.

Schedule

3 × 12-hour shifts

Day Shift or Night Shift available

This is much more than a traditional inpatient oncology position. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to some of the most advanced areas of cancer care, including:

• Malignant hematology
• BMT/stem cell transplantation
• CAR-T therapy
• Cellular therapies
• Advanced chemotherapy
• Clinical research trials
• Complex inpatient oncology management

For an experienced PA, this is an opportunity to work with a highly complex patient population and further develop expertise in malignant hematology and advanced cancer therapies.

For a new graduate PA, this is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in inpatient oncology while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• NCCPA certification
• Eligible for PA licensure in the applicable state
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Preferred, but not required:

• Previous hematology/oncology experience
• Inpatient or acute-care experience
• Malignant hematology experience
• BMT/stem cell transplant experience
• CAR-T or cellular therapy experience
• Experience caring for leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma patients

New graduate PAs are encouraged to apply.
