What you'll do
The Physician Assistant will work closely with orthopedic physicians in both clinic and surgical settings to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Responsibilities include patient assessments, treatment planning, procedures, documentation, and assisting in surgery as needed.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat orthopedic patients in clinic
- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Develop and implement treatment plans under physician supervision
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
- Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, procedures, medications, and recovery plans
- Assist physicians with in-office procedures and injections
- Surgical first assist responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EHR
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, therapy providers, and external facilities
- Participate in follow-up care and continuity of patient treatment
Qualifications
- Current or eligible Texas Physician Assistant license
- NCCPA certification required
- Orthopedic experience preferred, but not required
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
