About the Role:
Leon Springs Family Practice PA is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our team in San Antonio, TX. Schedule: Mon–Thursday, 8am–5pm, Friday 8am-12pm, no weekends
Compensation: $65–$79/hour for patient-facing time — build your own schedule (est. $105,000–$130,000/year at full-time patient hours)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including physical exams, medical histories, and diagnostic assessments
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses in a family medicine environment
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
- Develop and manage individualized patient treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Prescribe medications and provide patient education on treatment options and preventive care
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently using electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide follow-up care and coordinate referrals to specialists as needed
Requirements:
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current NCCPA certification (PA-C) required
- Active Texas state PA license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Experience in family medicine or primary care strongly preferred
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strongly preferred: experience with Athenahealth EHR
- ACO / value-based care experience is a plus
